Taberna VIPS also known as VIPS1 has long been a fixture in San Jose. The location is easy to find on the corner just diagonal from the Hotel Britannia.
Although a strip club there is just occasionally a dancer on the stage, more often on the weekends and only when there are plenty of girls and paying customers.
VIPS is one of the few venues with nude entertainment in Barrio Amon, and gets started relatively early, 7pm Monday through Friday.

Again my most recent visit to VIPS was a great time, although my favorite girl Veronica was no where to be found I was able to find a suitable substitute. It wasn't very busy and the girls were very laid back, I actually had to force myself to go, but once in the room the selection was outstanding as usual. The girls never seem to work the customers very hard I think they just get used to the local Ticos starring at them, and trying to cop a feel now and then. My friend and I were ready to go we wanted action, so I just grabbed a very pretty one named Pamela and said lets go. She finished her smoke slammed down her beer wiped off her mouth and said "Vamous" that was music to my ears, as always an experience at VIPS.
I was there 17 NOV 10. There were 2-5 worth doing girls. I had a great times with Scarlet. Many Tico in the place and a couple of gringos. It was safe. The room have a lot to be desire though. Cheap booze and cheep girls $ 18. You can not ask for Ritz Calrton at those prices.
