Another Costa Rica secret is that while many independent girls at places like the Hotel Del Rey charge tourists $100 they are often available for a little as $30 or $40 at daytime venues that masquerade as massage parlors.
Of course some girls also like to party, so the trick is to find them working at their daytime places so they know you understand the real deal.
Try the girl out for as little as $12 at some places, and if her performance is hot enough invite her out to party.
While some of the girls will quote you $100 the majority will just go along with whatever you have planned. After all you have already “broken the ice” so to speak, so many of the girls will figure you just like them, and want to have a good time.

what is up wth new fantasy? is it gone?
Also known as the clip joint - still there - still alot of pretty girls, and still the worst run place in Costa Rica, a place where the customer doesn't come first and the inmates run the asylum, still has 2 tier prices with the dreaded Gringo tax and if you don't like it don't come here attitude, I always like the girls and always paid the extras - not everyone feels that you get what you pay for - so remember the price you pay at the door isn't going to cover the upsales that are tolerated by management- just my opinion.
Dave, Lilliams Pension is not for the newbie and faint of heart and bar Virgil right next door.My bus goes by there everyday from La Uruca, Zona Roja and dangerous at night. . The women are really rough looking. New fantasy on Wednesday offering two for one at $55.00 and a group of very pretty girls. It is true as they walk towards the Del Rey their prices increase $10.00 for every fifty feet till ding $100.00.
Everything you said is so right on, San Jose has many choice's and the choice is yours, if you are on a budget and have a little time to look around, some of the low rent places are a great bargain - but finding that diamond in the ruff may take some time, if your just in town for a short time and really don't mind spending money the Del Rey and the Sportsman are the answer remember you get what you pay for, girls at place's like the Del Rey are NO guarantee and you may spend the $100 and really get ripped off, you go to a place like Relax and things don't go so well, you lose maybe $30 - remember your not dealing with business majors and most girls would rather ripped you off once rather than look for repeat business, one of the big knocks I have against San Jose is the the establishments don't back their product - Oh that's right the girls don't work for the place?? the place just takes half their money ??? not a good combination.
So...you say you get what you pay for, then you talk as if you might very well not get what you pay for.

We're planning a trip to CR soon, looking for educated advice, appreciate your willingness to share your experience.
My advice has always been - get everything out front - Price, how long, what you can and can't do, and never pay ahead of time, You can go to the Del Rey every night and get a great looking girl for $100 and if you don't ask she will do everything to cut your session short, don't be shy ask all the questions first.-- and never belief anything they say, about themselves they will try every self pity story just to suck more money from you - go there and treat it like a business transaction, remember have fun but don't fall in love - a quick thought if the girl wants $100 offer $80 with a $20 tip, no matter what happens good or bad she will try to hit you up for a tip at the end.

Start out early 5pm at the little Habana say Hi to Boyd the master of ceremonies!aka: Zona Blue then on to Sportsman Lounge say hi to the owner Bill then finish up at Del Rey/Key Largo.. IT is going to be a crazy night hold on and bring a wingman! Every Year this gets bigger and bigger event..
Costa Rica is know for having a minimum of 5 breeds of different women: costa rica, nicaraguan, dominican, columbian, panamanian y mas y mas. BUT, what has yet to happen is someone who let it be known, this is where you find "x" women. Like, Mas Caribe is where you find women of African Descent. Arcadas is where you might find a women of Columbian descent. Can someone really lay it out, and let the curious tavelers know where they might be able to find there specific breed of choice. Also, I know there is a "chinatown" area of San Jose, but I only see Asain women in the kitchen at restaurants. Where could I find an Asain Woman in Costa Rica? I Mean, I've seen one or two at the Del Rey, but one was 80lbs at minimum (yuck) and the other was "hancuffed" by a guy from the states. So, a little help here, fellas.

Thats a $20.00 girl or boy if I have ever seen one. Also by the way Todd and I searched everywhere through China Town in Costa Rica stoped in every Chinese shop asking for directions to an Asian anything and they all said no theire is not any. I think they do not want their women all streached out.
